How to watch Scotland vs Hungary: Kick-off time, TV channel and live stream

Scotland can reach the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first time with victory over Hungary on Sunday.

Despite their disastrous start to Euro 2024 with a 5-1 defeat to Germany, a 1-1 draw with Switzerland has laid a path for progression to the last 16.

Steve Clarke’s side took the lead over the Swiss in Gelsenkirchen through Scott McTominay, before a stunning Xherdan Shaqiri strike levelled the tie.

This leaves the Scots knowing three points will all but guarantee one of the third-placed qualifying spots for the knockouts, with second in Group A still in their reach.

Here’s everything you need to know about Scotland’s final group game.

What time does Scotland vs Hungary kick off?

Scotland will face Hungary at 8pm BST on Sunday 23 June.

This game will take place simultaneously with the other final round game from Group A, when already-qualified Germany will face Switzerland.

Scotland vs Hungary TV channel and live stream

Scotland against Hungary will be aired on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, with coverage starting from 7pm BST.

As was the case with the game against Hungary, Aston Villa captain Rachel Corsie will likely be in the studio alongside former West Ham boss David Moyes.

Ex-Scotland winger James McFadden will likely be on co-commentary alongside Guy Mowbray.

Scotland vs Hungary team news and talking points

The big news for Scotland ahead of this game is that Kieran Tierney has been ruled out of the rest of Euro 2024 with a hamstring injury sustained against Switzerland.

The defender has been a key figure for the Scots and his absence, coupled with the suspension of Watford centre-back Ryan Porteous, leaves Clarke short on defensive options.

Grant Hanley replaced Porteous against Switzerland and is likely to do the same against Hungary, but it is unclear who will stand in for Tierney.

Nottingham Forest centre-back Scott McKenna replaced Tierney on Wednesday, but captain Andy Robertson could also slot into the back three having been stationed at left wing-back.

Further up the pitch, Billy Gilmour is likely to start once again having replaced Ryan Christie against Switzerland.

The Brighton midfielder impressed alongside Callum McGregor and offers an element of control which could be crucial against Hungary.

Further forward, McTominay and John McGinn will once again flank Southampton striker Che Adams, using their box-crashing abilities to fashion chances.
