1. Highland Broadband hopes to connect a further 100,000 premises after receiving another £10 million from the Scottish National Investment Bank (SNIB).
The telecoms provider, part of Lothian Broadband Networks, received £20 million from the state-funded bank in 2021, then £20 million last year. That helped it to install ultra-fast networks in East Lothian, Stirlingshire, Fife and across sites to the north of Inverness.
The latest tranche of money from SNIB is to be used to extend the telecoms network across the Black Isle, Great Glen and the Cairngorms.
