Gibraltar vs Scotland: Steve Clarke’s men ramp up Euro 2024 preparations

But there’s still a bit of work to do before things get under way in Germany.

Steve Clarke and his squad are off to Portugal to take on Gibraltar in the first of two warm-up matches ahead of the finals.

The match in Faro should present the Scots with a golden opportunity to bring an end to a seven-game winless run and get things back on track ahead of the Euros.

It’s also a chance for Clarke’s hopefuls to stake their claim for a place in the final 26-man squad.

The Scotland boss named a 28-man preliminary squad almost two weeks ago – but that’s already gone down to 27 after the injury hammerblow suffered by Lyndon Dykes.

SunSport has all you need to know ahead of the game.

Latest team news

Steve Clarke would’ve no doubt been hoping to get a look at all 28 of the players selected in his preliminary squad.

But Lyndon Dykes suffered an injury on training on Friday with the worst fears realised.

The key striker has been ruled OUT of the finals and no replacement has, as of yet anyway, been selected.

Celtic defender Greg Taylor will link up with the squad having been given a little bit of extra time off to get married.

Ben Doak could win his first senior international cap.
