German football team names Tartan Army Euros visit as ‘one of 2024’s best moments
SCOTLAND’S Tartan Army has been named by a German football team as one of their favourite memories of 2024.
Tens of thousands of Scottish football fans made the trip to Germany this summer to watch Steve Clarke’s men play in the Euros.
Despite Scotland’s disappointing early exit from the tournament, the Tartan Army made the most of their time in Germany and left a lasting positive impression as they were officially voted the best group of supporters at the Euros.
Fans were praised by locals for bringing a “fun party atmosphere” to Germany and even the Bundesliga league two side FC Koln spoke highly of the travelling Scots.
In a social media post on Hogmanay the German side said: “One of our favourite memories of 2024.
“Was a pleasure having you, Tartan Army!”
The club also shared a picture of a sea of saltire flags and Scotland fans at the tournament.

Scotland supporters were quick to share their mutual love for FC Koln as one fan replied: “Loved our time in Cologne, look forward to visiting the city and stadium again in not too distant future.”
Another Scot said: “Superb place! Loved it.”
Meanwhile, a third replied: “The pleasure was all ours.
“Until the next time in Köln…….”
