The worrying incident took place yesterday at Ocean Terminal shopping centre

It’s understood the man, who is believed to be in his mid-30s, was seen recording youngsters playing using a bright red phone.

He then deleted the footage, reportedly including six clips, after being confronted by angry parents, reports Edinburgh Live.

The man then fled the scene before security and police could be alerted.

His behaviour is thought to have been reported to cops.

Police Scotland was approached for comment.

A spokesperson for Ocean Terminal said: “We can confirm that a member of the public contacted Ocean Terminal security on Sunday and made them aware of a concern relating to their visit the previous day.

“The individual was advised to report the matter to the police.

“Where required we will support the police should they decide to investigate.”
