‘Furious’ Ben Doak hailed after calling out ex-Scotland team-mate on the pitch
BEN DOAK had tongues wagging once again after putting in another standout display for Middlesbrough.
But fans weren’t just raving about his skill on the pitch this time against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Scotland wonderkid Doak, 19, has been a massive influence on Michael Carrick‘s Boro side in the Championship this season despite his young age.
The former Celtic starlet has been enjoying his first real taste of senior football under the Manchester United legend and Tartan Army boss Steve Clarke.
Doak has scored scored one goal and provided five assists in 14 games in the English second tier and is considered one of the best performers in the league this season.
His lighting pace and his ability to glide past defenders has been a joy to watch both down south and on the international stage.

Scotland fans have been tuning into Middlesbrough‘s matches to see him in action and unsurprisingly he didn’t disappoint in front of a TV audience once again.
His partnership with fellow Scotland star Tommy Conway has been a particularly promising sight for Tartan Army diehards.
It’s clear to see that they love playing alongside one another.
But while their link up is looking strong, Doak wasn’t impressed with another player who one wore the Dark Blues shirt too.
Former Scotland Under-21 star Hayden Hackney is Doak and Conway’s captain at Riverside and they know one another well from the international setup.
And Doak wasn’t afraid to let rip at the skipper during the 1-1 draw with Burnley.
The electric wide-man was furious with Hackney after the skipper failed to pick him out on the wing during a dangerous attack late on while the game was still level.
Doak was free with plenty of space and it was Boro’s best chance in the latter stages but his team-mate squandered it, leaving the Liverpool loanee and fans furious.
The teenager was seen visibly outraged as he threw his hands in the air and screamed at the midfielder.
And pnters were quick to point out the moment on social media as they saw a different side to Doak and hailed him for showing the desire and leadership at such an early stage of his career.
One supporter even compared the rising Scots ace to an F1 car!
One fan wrote: “Honestly made my day seeing Doak have a right to at Hackney there. Players just don’t do it any more. They are all too nice!”
Another said: “Ben Doak furious with Hackney there. Rightly so. Poor boy’s an f1 car competing at Cheltenham.”
A third pointed out: “Ben Doak bellowing at his captain.”
A fourth added: “Get him told Doak.”
Doak, Conway and Hackney were all called up by Scot Gemmill at the same time but English-born Hackney only featured twice for Scotland in 2022 whilst weighing up his international future with England.

Hackney, 22, is eligible to play for Clarke’s side through his mother who was born in Edinburgh.
The highly-rated midfielder, who is reportedly on Newcastle‘s radar, is seemingly in favour of representing his nation of birth though after performing a U-turn when he linked up with the England Under-21s team a year after lining up for the Scots.
