SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell has emerged as the latest Scotland injury doubt for Euro 2024.
Manager Steve Clarke has already lost key players Lyndon Dykes, Lewis Ferguson, Nathan Patterson, Aaron Hickey, Jacob Brown and Ben Doak for the opening game of the finals against hosts Germany next Friday.
And Mail Sport can reveal that Maxwell is now scrambling to find a way to make it to the Allianz Arena in Munich after undergoing emergency surgery on a detached retina.
The 49-year-old will sit out Thursday’s Annual General Meeting of the SFA at Hampden.
Retinal detachment surgery also prohibits sufferers from flying for four weeks, forcing the former St Mirren and Partick Thistle defender to explore the feasibility of making it to Bavaria for the tournament curtain call by other means.
