Euro 2025 play-offs: Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales learn play-off fate as they bid to reach tournament proper – Eurosport
Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales have all found out their opponents in the first round of Euro 2025 play-offs.
England have already booked their place at next summer’s finals in Switzerland, with the other three Home Nations still fighting to join Sarina Wiegman’s side in the finals.
A total of seven places in the 16-team Euros finals are still available, with Denmark, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain already sealing their places alongside England after finishing in the top two of their League A groups.
Switzerland are also guaranteed a place in the finals as hosts.
Scotland and Wales both finished top of their respective League B qualification groups, while Northern Ireland were runners-up to Portugal.
Meanwhile, the Republic of Ireland also enter the play-offs after finishing bottom of their League A group that contained France, England and Sweden.
Scotland will meet Hungary, Northern Ireland take on Croatia, while Wales face Slovakia in the first round of the play-offs.
These are all two-legged ties with the first leg scheduled for October 23, ahead of the second leg a week later.
A victory for the Tartan Army would set up a second-round play-off match against either Montenegro or Finland.
If Northern Ireland overcome Croatia, then a match against Albania or Norway awaits for Tanya Oxtoby’s side.
Meanwhile, Wales could face a tantalising second-round clash against the Republic of Ireland, should they beat Georgia in their two-legged opener.
The second-round play-offs take place on November 27 and December 3 respectively.
