Erica Stoll back on course with Rory McIlroy for first time since divorce reversal

Erica Stoll is back on the links supporting husband Rory McIlroy after the PGA Tour star recently retracted his divorce petition following a brief split.

Stoll was all smiles while walking on the course Thursday at the Genesis Scottish Open — where the world No. 2 McIlroy is looking to redeem himself after his collapse at last month’s U.S. Open.

Stoll, who sported a crossbody bag by Louis Vuitton, wore a black jacket with a grey sweater underneath and dark pants while at The Renaissance Club in Scotland.

It marked the first time Stoll was seen publicly supporting the world No. 2 at a competition since the news of McIlroy’s divorce filing broke in May.

McIlroy stated the marriage was “irretrievably broken” in divorce documents filed in Florida in May — and he asked for split custody of his and Stoll’s 3-year-old daughter, Poppy, whom they welcomed in August 2020.

The next month, McIlroy’s divorce petition was voluntarily dismissed by a court in Palm Beach County, Fla., where the couple lives, as confirmed by Page Six.

“There have been rumors about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumor is a fool’s game,” McIlroy, 35, told The Guardian in a statement they published on June 11.

“Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

One report by the Daily Mail claimed McIlroy and CBS reporter Amanda Balionis were “the talk of the links.”

McIlroy and Stoll recently enjoyed a dinner with his fellow Ryder Cup teammates in London, as seen in a photo Diane Donald, the wife of Team Europe’s captain Luke Donald, posted to her Instagram Story on Sunday.

Stoll has been a mainstay at McIlroy’s tournaments throughout their relationship.

However, she did not attend the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte on May 12, which McIlroy won, amid rumors about the state of their marriage at the time.

McIlroy filed for divorce the next day.

Stoll attended the Ryder Cup in 2016 (Minnesota), 2018 (Paris), 2021 (Wisconsin) and 2023 (Rome), and the 2023 Masters — but she was noticeably absent at the Masters three months ago, when when McIlroy finished tied for 22nd.
