The Group B match between England and Scotland at Barbados was abandoned due to relentless rain. Scotland won the toss and made a strong start, with George Munsey and Micheal Jones putting on a 90-run partnership in the first 10 overs but the persistent rain forced the umpires to call off the game.

‌The highly anticipated Group B clash between England and Scotland began after a rain-interrupted toss, with Scotland winning the toss and elected to bat first. This decision proved to be a wise one, as the Scottish opening pair of Michael Jones and George Munsey got off to a blistering start, racing to 49/0  by the end of the powerplay. However, the fickle weather once again intervened, as the rain returned during the seventh over, forcing the umpires to call for the covers to be brought on. The players were forced to leave the field, and the match was interrupted for nearly two hours. Finally, at 11:23 IST, the match officials decided to reduce the encounter to a 10-over-per-side affair. Despite the interruption, Scotland maintained their momentum, reaching 72/0 after 8 overs. They went on to post 90/0 in 10 overs. However, due to the DLS method being applied because of rain, England’s revised target was set at 109 runs off 10 overs.

Unfortunately, the rain began pouring down just as Scotland completed their innings and England prepared to bat, leaving the match officials no choice but to abandon the game due to the persistent gloomy weather conditions.
