England vs Scotland T20 World Cup 2024: Scotland have won the toss and chosen to bat first against England. England have left out 2022 Man of the Tournament (MOTM) Sam Curran from the playing XI.

England will kickstart their title defense against neighboring Scotland in a Group B clash at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The Jos Buttler-led side is aiming to become the first team in history to defend the trophy and also win it for the third time.

England is one of three teams to play no warm-up games in the build-up to the tournament. Instead, they hosted Pakistan in a four-match T20I series, which they won 2-0 before flying to North America. All eyes will be on Jofra Archer, who will play an ICC event for the first time since his heroics in the 2019 World Cup.

On the other hand, Scotland will be looking to start the tournament with a big upset.

Quite remarkably, it is the first meeting between the two sides in a T20I game.

Pitch Report: The pitch in Barbados is known to be one that has bounce and support for pacers especially in the morning. The first game at the venue saw Oman and Namibia playing a Super Over despite putting just 109 runs on the board.

Weather Report: There is rain around in Barbados which would play spoilsport with a 40-50% chance of rain during the match.

England XI: Jos Buttler (C, WK), Phil Salt, Will Jacks, Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, Mark Wood

Scotland XI: George Munsey, Michael Jones, Brandon McMullen, Richie Berrington(c), Matthew Cross(w), Michael Leask, Chris Greaves, Mark Watt, Christopher Sole, Brad Wheal, Bradley Currie
