DO NOT TRAVEL: Fire closes major London – Scotland railway line
The local fire service is attending a fire in Stevenage, and all lines are closed.
Network Rail says that the fire has started in the signalling cables next to the railway line.
London North Eastern Railway, Great Northern and Thameslink are all telling people not to travel.
Grand Central, Hull Trains and Lumo are all affected by the incident with a number of ticket acceptances in place with the likes of Northern, TransPennine Express, CrossCountry and Avanti West Coast.

Major disruption is expected until end of service today (09/10).
The fire brigade are dealing with an incident near the railway. To allow this to be done safely, trains have been stopped in the area. This can be necessary if the incident is too close to the track to allow services to pass, or if the fire brigade need access to the site via the track.
