Cricket Scotland appoint Craig Wallace as Women’s head coach on permanent basis
Craig Wallace wants Scotland’s women to “show the world how good they are” after being named head coach on a permanent basis.
Wallace, 34, has been acting as interim head coach for the past year, guiding the Scots through qualification to reach a World Cup for the first time.
He also led them to five wins in six games in a tri-series against the Netherlands and Papua New Guinea earlier this month.
Scotland are in Group B of the 2024 T20 World Cup – which has been moved from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates – where they will face Bangladesh, West Indies, South Africa and England.
“It’s been an amazing year for me working with these players, and I’m just looking forward to carrying on the journey with them,” Wallace said.
“The potential here in Scotland is amazing. It’s exciting to work with them to grow the women’s game and improve the national team to the best of our abilities.
“They want to be among the best players in the world and it’s my job to create an environment that allows them to flourish.”
