1. The Scottish government has unveiled plans to accelerate the rollout of electric vehicle (EV) charging points, with the aim to install 24,000 more across the country by 2030.
This follows the achievement of its initial target of 6,000 two years ahead of schedule. The draft implementation plan, published on Monday, indicates that private investment will primarily meet the costs of the expansion, which will require a five-fold increase in funding over the next six years.
Fiona Hyslop, the transport secretary, emphasised the need for equitable access to EV charging across Scotland, highlighting the role of EVs in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. A consultation on the plan
