Celtic Linked To Summer Move For Scotland International | Latest Celtic News
Celtic has shown interest in Scotland international Tommy Conway, amid Bristol City’s intention to sell the striker this summer, according to Bristol Live.
Bristol City, faced with the prospect of losing Conway for a mere £300,000 compensation fee next summer, is prepared to part ways with him now to avoid a financial setback.
The news site reports that while Conway is not explicitly listed for transfer, there is a strong likelihood of his departure unless he agrees to a new contract, which doesn’t seem likely.
The 21-year-old’s reluctance to sign a new deal has led to the club’s decision to entertain offers for him in this transfer window.
Conway recently received a call-up to the Scotland squad for the Euro 2024 finals, stepping up from the under-21 setup due to injuries within the team. Shankland is expected to play ahead of the 21-year-old, though.
Celtic will be in the market for a striker this summer, so there could be some substance to this, especially when you take into account that he could help reach the UEFA quota for the Champions League.
