CalMac ferry services to meet ‘minimum requirements’ for each island

1. The ferry operator CalMac has said it will make alterations to its timetable in the coming months in anticipation of increasing customer numbers.

Expected service disruptions over the summer had been attributed to ongoing repairs on MV Caledonian Isles, which is one of the operator’s largest vessels, and routine maintenance for other ships in the fleet.

From October 18 until at least November 15 ferries will be redistributed throughout the network to meet customer demand, CalMac said.

On Monday the Scottish government announced that fares across CalMac’s services will increase by 10 per cent from next year.
