BBC Scotland to screen live coverage of the 2024 Scottish Masters Football tournament in Aberdeen

Sportscene will have live television coverage of the six-a-side football tournament which features legends of the game and has become a firm favourite with fans.

For the second season running, the broadcaster has secured live television rights for the Scottish Masters which this year is being hosted by Aberdeen’s P&J Live arena.

Scottish footballing legends from Aberdeen, Celtic, Dundee United, and Rangers, will compete in the action-packed competition on Thursday, 14 November.

The Aberdeen team will be captained by Russell Anderson, Dundee United by Willo Flood, Celtic by Stiliyan Petrov and Rangers by Barry Ferguson.

Sportscene will have live coverage from the event on the BBC Scotland channel from 7.15pm – 10pm. Emma Dodds will present, with Rob Maclean in the commentary box and Tyrone Smith reporting.

Scottish Masters Football was formed in 2000 and 15 arenas have hosted the tournament over the past 11 years, with more than 1,500 ex-professional footballers playing in series since inception.

Among the players taking part are Russell Anderson, Eoin Jess, Joe Lewis, Derek Young, Jonny Hayes, Gavin Rae, Kevin McNaughton and Lee Miller for Aberdeen.

Rangers have Barry Ferguson, Jermain Defoe, Kris Boyd, Lee McCulloch, Graham Dorrans, Pedro Mendes, Roy Carroll and Dean Sheils.

For Celtic, there’s Stiliyan Petrov, Scott Brown, Charlie Mulgrew, Simon Donnelly, Gary Hooper, Darren O’Dea, Joe Ledley and Michael McGovern.

Dundee United’s squad features Willo Flood, Mark Wilson, Craig Conway, Gary Kenneth, John Rankin, Jon Daly, Danny Swanson and Paul Gallacher.
