Barnabas Varga health update issued by Hungarian FA after striker suffered serious injury in Scotland win
The Hungarian FA have revealed Barnabas Varga is in a ‘stable condition’ and ‘conscious’ after being stretchered out of his side’s 1-0 Euro 2024 win over Scotland on Sunday.
The 29-year-old collided with goalkeeper Angus Gunn and immediately hit the floor, with his team-mates visibly distressed.
Hungarian players formed a barrier around the player, with medics then rushing onto the field.
Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai was left in tears, with Varga eventually stretchered off after a lengthy delay. His privacy was protected by a huge screen that shielded him from view.
