Andy Murray wipes floor with fellow tennis star in online spat

ANDY MURRAY’S Wimbledon farewell ended prematurely last month.

The Scottish star was gearing up for his final goodbye to the crowd as he teamed up with Emma Raducanu for a mixed doubles partnership.

But she pulled out of the event at the last minute to deny Murray his monumental exit from the sport’s top competition.

And even though he is not on the court, he is still finding a way to entertain fans.

And that’s because he has been involved in an online spat with a fellow tennis player.

Posting on X, English star Liam Broady posted: “First match at 10am today so have to warm up at 8:30.

“Breakfast doesn’t open till 9am? Walked into player area and we’ve got…bagels.

“Really good for a high standard of tennis and tennis tournament in Atlanta.”

The complaint provoked a comical response from Murray, who criticised Broady’s lack of time management.

He replied: “Hope you are ok mate. That sounds terrible.

“Surprised you hadn’t checked the breakfast situation ahead of time like most professionals would have done.”

His post was met with a response from Broady who said: “You have five people just to wipe your bum for you man.

“You’ve never checked a situation ahead of time in your life.

“We are not the same.”

Murray replied with a ‘fishing’ emoji as fans went wild in the replies section.

One fan said: “No one does it like the Scottish king.”

Another added: “Leave it to Andy Murray to dunk on Liam Broady.”

A third fan said: “Game, set, and match: Murray.”

It’s not the first time Murray has responded to posts by Broady, with tongue n’ cheek replies being sent before.

Last month Broady posted his thoughts on a Chelsea match when players were fighting over who would take a spot kick.

He said: “Didn’t see any players squabbling over penalty duties in big moments or against City.

“4-0 up against Everton and they’ll fight over it though.”

And Murray replied: “Hi mate Dele Ali called and wants his quote back.

“When’s the last time you had an original thought?!

“So sad.”
