One in four Scots say work affects their mental health

Job stress is causing workers to feel overwhelmed and “miserable”

1. A quarter of Scots claim that their job is having a negative impact on their mental health while 60 per cent described feeling “under excessive pressure”.
Research from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) also found that 37 per cent said they were “miserable” at work.
The annual Working Lives Scotland report was compiled using responses from more than 1,000 people.
It recommends that employers should offer more flexible working options, put greater emphasis on staff wellbeing and ensure better engagement with employees.
