Bob McIntyre sips famous Scottish drink while lounging on beach 4000 miles away

BOB McINTYRE made it a season to remember in the PGA Tour this year by becoming the first Scot to win on home soil since 1999 in July.

Now the Oban star has swapped the bunker for the beachside and has been enjoying a taste of his home nation over in the other side of the world.

McIntyre, 28, is taking a well-earned break from the green after a hectic season travelling all over the globe.

But he has taken one more long-haul trip to wind down from his busy life on the fairway.

The world number 13 has jetted out to the sunny Caribbean to enjoy a few days in paradise in The Bahamas.

McIntyre posted a picture of himself sipping a drink on the sand while catching some rays and enjoying some down time.

But it wasn’t a Pina Colada or Tequila Sunrise.

In fact, McIntyre opted for a drink a bit closer to home.

He showed his true Scottish colours by slurping a can of Irn Bru instead.

And he didn’t just slump for any regular can.

The Scottish golfer wanted the full whack so he got his hands on an original recipe can to enjoy while lounging on the beach.

McIntyre shared the snap on social media with the caption: “What a f****** season that was. 2024 over and out.”

The 28-year-old was swarmed with replies from fans who hailed his performances throughout the season and thanked him for flying the Scottish flag.

One fan wrote: “Please keep being you Bob. You’re an amazing ambassador for Scotland.”

Someone else replied: “What a year indeed, well done on all your achievements, it’s been great to follow you.”

While a third commented: “Highlight of the golf year was your Scottish open win for me.”
