Profits up at firm whose handbags are loved by Kate and Meghan

1. A Scottish leather goods manufacturer which is popular with the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales has reported a 67 per cent rise in profit.

Strathberry’s annual accounts show a pre-tax profit of £2.5 million in the 12 months to April this year. That was up from £1.5 million in the previous financial year.

Revenue increased by 56 per cent to £26.4 million with the company citing the growth of online sales as well as improved purchasing through retail outlets in Edinburgh and London.

The company is best known for its handbags but also makes smaller leather goods, jewellery and cashmere ranges.
