Rural campaigners awarded six-figure grant to buy Argyll pub

1. Rural campaigners have been awarded a six-figure grant to buy their local pub.

The Oakbank Hotel, in Sandbank, Argyll, has received £147,411 through the Scotland Land Fund.

The venue, on the banks of Holy Loch, has been closed for almost two years but the hope is that it can reopen in 2025.

The Oakbank Community Inn Sandbank group said the grant will allow them to take over the site with additional fundraising planned to cover renovation costs.
