1. The Dubai-based owner of the Mar Hall resort has bought a second Scottish hotel.
Dutco Group has bought The Bruntsfield hotel in Edinburgh from the property investment firm Castleforge for an undisclosed sum.
In December last year Dutco acquired Mar Hall from administrators and has embarked on a multimillion-pound overhaul.
It said it planned to invest in the 74-bedroom Bruntsfield and transform it into a luxury hotel.
Nelson Gibb, Dutco chief executive of Dutco, said: “Expanding further into Scotland’s vibrant hospitality market so soon after acquiring Mar Hall reflects our strong belief in Scotland as a world-class destination.”
