BBC to screen Tennis Scotland Open Tour Finals

Domestic events have been keenly contested, with men’s tournaments being won by seven different players and the women’s having 11 winners.

Nicolas Rosenzweig, at the age of 38, leads the men’s rankings ahead of 19-year-old Cameron Fryer, but they have both played 15 tournaments while third-placed Stewart has been in only four and the St Andrews-based Frenchman is unable to make the finals.

Similarly, with St Helens’ Rylatt not defending her title, 20-year-old Heather Barlow leads the women’s rankings but has played 14 tournaments compared to second-placed 17-year-old Mia Wainwright’s four.

The regular season concluded with this month’s Scottish National Open Championships at the University of Stirling, where world 316 James MacKinlay beat fellow 24-year-old Ewen Lumsden (622) in the men’s final as 17-year-old world junior 83 Flora Johnson defeated Halle Pringle, five years her senior, in the women’s.

Semi-final action at the TS Open Tour Finals will get under way on 17 December at 09:30 GMT, with spectators also able to attend both competition days free of charge.

Lumsden has already teamed up with former world number 44 Jonny O’Mara to take the men’s doubles title, while Stirling-based Hephzibah Oluwadare and fellow top junior Marelie Raath clinched the women’s trophy.
