An aggregate victory after Tuesday’s return leg would secure Scotland’s first appearance at a major finals since the 2019 World Cup.

Finland won group games 1-0 home and away as they reached the 2022 Euro finals at the Scots’ expense.

However, Martinez Losa insists he and his side will take “the positives and negatives of previous experiences” to fuel their bid to qualify for the finals in Switzerland.

“It is impossible not to dream, especially when you see the men playing in this summer’s Euros in Germany,” he said. “You wake up every morning with that drive to replicate something like that or even better it.

“We have players with plenty of experience of being involved in Champions League and finals, playing in major tournaments, I have been exposed to these scenarios.

“Preparation provides you confidence and what they have done provides confidence. We are in a very good place, but I think we still have another level.”
