Entrepreneurial Scotland launches 2025 Internship Scheme for Businesses – Scottish Business News
Entrepreneurial Scotland has launched its 2025 Saltire Scholars Internship Programme, inviting businesses across Scotland the opportunity to host an intern in their organisation next summer.
The programme matches businesses of all sizes, from all sectors, with high-quality, pre-vetted students through 10-12 week summer internships. Interns bring the latest skills, fresh ideas and a results driven mindset to new projects or daily operations. By partnering with the programme, organisations can build a pipeline of future hires and gain real commercial results, all while supporting the next generation who will shape Scotland.
The programme saw significant growth in 2024, placing 195 students in internships across the world. The programme partners with local SMEs to large corporations such as Alexander Dennis, Network Rail and the Scottish National Investment Bank.
The selection process for the final group of potential interns is well underway, with over 1,200 students from all 16 of Scotland’s universities currently being assessed across 30 national assessment centres. This rigorous process ensures businesses are matched with the most high-potential individuals.
As the programme prepares for an even larger cohort of interns in 2025, CEO Sean McGrath encourages businesses to get involved now to not only secure the best talent, but to invest in Scotland’s future.
“Hosting a Saltire Scholar isn’t just about filling a summer role, it’s about shaping your company’s future with a pipeline of the next generation of leaders. These are individuals who can drive change, bring new energy and deliver measurable results.”
