What do Scotland need to qualify?

It’s complicated, VERY complicated.

There are only four games to go in the group but there are a whole raft of permutations to consider.

Sunsport has it explained here – but in the most basic terms, Scotland need a win to keep our chances alive.

Team news

Steve Clarke lost Lewis Morgan and Che Adams from his initial squad – and called up Stuart Armstrong instead.

Among the group is first-timer Cieran Slicker but he’ll likely play back-up to Killie’s Robby McCrorie and current No1 Craig Gordon.

Rangers midfielder Connor Barron was another recalled into the squad after missing out on last month’s trip to Zagreb.

Middlesbrough duo Tommy Conway and Ben Doak will hope to start – especially with Lyndon Dykes and Lawrence Shankland both struggling for form at their clubs.

Two others certainly well IN form on the domestic scene are Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay at Napoli. Both are top of Serie A and flying in Antonia Conte’s side.
