Gordon: Scotland deserve more points on Nations League board
Craig Gordon believes Scotland deserve to have more points on the board in their Nations League group as they look to avoid relegation in their last two games.
Steve Clarke’s side are currently bottom of Group A1 after four games as they prepare to take on Croatia and Poland.
The team at the bottom of the four-team section after six games will be relegated to Group B while the team in second bottom will face a relegation playoff.
Scotland are currently three points behind third-placed Poland, who they play in Warsaw on Monday, and six behind second-placed Croatia who they face at Hampden on Friday.
Despite the difficult start to the campaign, Gordon has been encouraged by the performance levels and says they want to stay amongst the top seeds again.
The goalkeeper said: “We’ve played well in the games at this level, in this group, we don’t feel that we have the points that we have possibly deserved to get.
“You have to be almost perfect at this level to maintain that throughout 90 minutes and get the points on the board.
“It’s difficult, but we want to keep improving, we want to keep bettering ourselves, and the only way to do that is to play against the best teams.
“And that’s at this level so we want to try and continue that.”
