Barron keeps place in Scotland squad for final Nations League matches
Connor Barron has been named in the latest Scotland squad for the final round of Nations League matches – the first time he’s been called up to Steve Clarke’s initial squad.
The Rangers midfielder, 22, was called up to the previous two squads as injury cover after more senior players had dropped out.
Clarke had to call up a few uncapped players in the last camp – Liam Lindsay, Andy Irving, and Jack MacKenzie – due to an injury crisis but Barron is the only one kept on for the Croatia and Poland games, alongside Nicky Devlin.
The former Dons youngster has started nine of Rangers’ 10 league matches so far and made 17 appearances in total for Philippe Clement’s side.
In a disappointing start to the campaign for the Ibrox side, Barron has earned praise and been seen a positive while becoming a settled part of the Rangers midfield.
