Consumer confidence slides as GDP growth slows

1. Consumer confidence has weakened and the Scottish economy grew less strongly than previously thought during the spring, official data shows.
Quarterly national accounts found onshore gross domestic product increased by 0.4 per cent between April and June, down from a previous estimate of 0.6 per cent. However, GDP for the first quarter of this year rose from 0.5 per cent to 0.7 per cent.
