Lewis Ferguson credits ‘Scottish mentality’ as he nears return
Lewis Ferguson credits a “Scottish mentality” for helping him to recover from his serious knee injury as he edges closer to a return.
The Bologna captain suffered an anterior cruciate ligament in April that ruled him out of contention for a spot in Scotland’s squad at this summer’s Euro 2024 tournament.
The Serie A side take on Cagliari tomorrow evening and the former Aberdeen midfielder has been named in their matchday squad for the first time since he was ruled out.
Speaking to club media, external, he said: “I just want to return as strong as possible
“I want to have the same feelings that I had last season when I played.
“This is just the nature of a Scottish player, we have the desire and the will to win.
“This is just the Scottish mentality.
“You work hard and fight every day to become better.”
