Kevin Nisbet has been called up to the Scotland squad to replace the injured Lawrence Shankland, becoming the third Aberdeen player included in Steve Clarke’s group.

Hearts captain Shankland did not train when the group joined up on Tuesday and has since pulled out.

Nisbet joins Pittodrie players Jack Mackenzie and Nicky Devlin, whom are both uncapped.

Nisbet has 11 Scotland caps and one goal.

The 27-year-old also featured at Euro 2020.

He has scored three goals in six games since moving to Aberdeen.

Scotland have been blighted by injuries this month, with 12 first team players now missing due to fitness problems.

Clarke’s side travel to Croatia for Saturday’s Nations League match, before hosting Portugal on Monday.

Scotland have won just one of their last 14 matches.
