Leading law firm Burness Paull names new partner

Hello and welcome to our daily digest of business, financial and economic news from around Scotland.

1. One of Scotland’s largest independent law firms has named a new managing partner. Mark Ellis will work alongside Peter Lawson who has also been re-elected as chairman of Burness Paull for a third term.

Ellis, a partner since 2008, has been heading the firm’s corporate finance team for the past six years and previously sat on the governance and strategy board.

He is replacing Tamar Tammes, who has been in the role since 2018. She is moving to a new position as head of international growth to focus on Lex Mundi, the global network of independent law firms which Burness Paull is a member of.
