Network Rail Announces Up to £1.3bn in Contracts

Network Rail has announced up to 1.3 billion GBP in contracts for work on Scotland’s Railway over the next five years.

The contracts will be awarded to five organisations to ensure Scotland’s Railway remain safe and reliable. This includes Taziker Industrial, AmcoGiffen, STORY and QTS. In addition, VolkerRail will receive its first major contract on Scotland’s Railway.

The contracts will fund buildings, civils, structures, earthworks, drainage, renewals, and enhancement projects.

Lot A will award up to 150 million GBP to Taziker Industrial for minor civil work; Lot B will award up to 730 million GBP to AmcoGiffen and Story for buildings and civils; and Lot C will award up to 420 million GBP to QTS for geotechnical and minor civil work.

Finally, VolkerRail will be awarded up to 150 million GBP for signalling, power and communications works.

Each of the contracts will last 5 years and include a three-year extension option based on performance.
