Scotland suffered a gut-wrenching 3-2 defeat to Poland on Thursday in their first League A clash.

Having fought back from 2-0 down to level things at 2-2, a 97th minute Nicola Zalewski penalty snatched all three points for the Poles.

The bigger picture means that Scotland have now won just one of their last THIRTEEN games – and that was against Gibraltar.

And things don’t get any easier with a huge test against Portugal in Lisbon up next tonight.

Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a historic 900th career goal as Roberto Martinez’s side beat Croatia 2-1.

Getting there even proved a challenge with manager Clarke left unimpressed after the team flew into a military airport almost ONE HUNDRED MILES away from Lisbon.

That meant a two-hour bus trip to the capital with Clarke unhappy with how his team’s preparation had been affected.

Nonetheless, that’s now in the past and it’s full focus on tonight’s game.
