Rangers midfielder Connor Barron has been called up to the Scotland squad for the first ever time.

The 22-year-old has been promoted from the under-21’s after an impressive start to the season with his new club.

Barron has been selected by Clarke alongside fellow uncapped duo Jon McCracken, the Dundee goalkeeper, and Sassuolo defender Josh Doig.

Che Adams, James Forrest, Greg Taylor and Robby McCrorie have all pulled out of the Scotland squad due with fitness concerns.

Steve Clarke’s side begin their Nations League campaign against Poland on Thursday night, before a trip to Portugal over the weekend.

It will be the first time the group have played together since they were knocked out of Euro 2024.
