Scotland under-21 international Harrison Ashby has joined Queens Park Rangers on loan for the rest of the season from Newcastle.

He was involved in Eddie Howe’s pre-season training camps, playing 45 minutes against Yokohama F. Marinos but will be playing his football for the Loftus Road club this season.

Ashby spent last season on-loan at Swansea City but reckons QPR is the right move for him now.

He told QPR club media: “There is only one place that I wanted to come and I am really excited for what’s ahead.

“The people I spoke to, and the chats that we had, straight away my head turned.”
