But his brother Liam, 51, is not the only one that Noel, 57, has clashed with in recent years.

But ahead of the Scottish gigs next August, many fans will remember his spat with a huge Scots chart-topper that saw the Wonderwall star brand Scotland a “third-world country.”

Noel Gallagher once engaged in a war of words with Lewis Capaldi.

The baffling 2019 feud all began with a scathing radio interview and escalated with hilarious social media trolling and even a Chewbacca mask.

It was all sparked when Noel blasted the Bathgate-born singer on Radio X.

Capaldi was riding high after his album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which became the fastest-selling album of the year.

It contained his hit tune Someone You Loved had rocketed to number 1 in the US and UK charts – where it stayed for SEVEN weeks.

But the Oasis legend was less than impressed when he revealed in a 2019 interview that he didn’t know who Capaldi was and even branded him an idiot in a foul-mouthed response.

He said:  “Music is f***ing w*** at the moment”.

“Who’s this Capaldi fella? Who the f***’s that idiot?”

But Lewis Capaldi took the insult in his stride and hilariously reacted to the clip on social media, and revealed he was a huge fan of the High Flying Birds frontman.

Lewis told his millions of social media followers: “I’ve f***ing peaked.

“Slagged off by Noel Gallagher. What a f***ing day!

“It’s Father’s Day and I’m getting slagged off by a man who’s old enough to be my da’.

“I’ve never been more happy. Happy Father’s Day, Noel.”

The feud continued to escalate as Noel responded telling “daftie” Lewis to “find joy” in his music, the Scot got him back with a hilarious Glastonbury entrance.

Liam and Noel ‘speaking in secret’ ahead of reunion

Oasis sensationally split in 2009 amid a fallout between Liam and Noel.

The breakup was announced after a backstage argument between Noel and Liam Gallagher during a performance at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.

Noel then left the band saying he could no longer work with Liam.

The warring siblings have been working towards a reconciliation but have finally reached a deal to bring back the band.

A music insider said: “This is the reunion that no one thought would ever happen.

“Liam and Noel have been staunch enemies for well over a decade but they have secretly been back in touch.

“A deal was put on the table and they both said yes – much to the surprise of the people around them.”

He blared out Noel’s “who is this Capaldi fella?” interview on the big screen before swaggering out in a Gallagher-esque khaki parka.

Noel proceeded to compare the Scots crooner to Star Wars character Chewbacca and branded his homeland a third-world nation.

Speaking to Variety, Noel said: “F***ing Chewbacca should enjoy his 15 minutes. The greatest day of his life that I slagged him off or called him an idiot.

“It’s the greatest day of his f***ing life so far. Well, I know you’re Scottish and all that, but f***ing hell!

“It is like a third-world country, but for f***‘s sake, man, you must have had a better day than this. Surely!

“So, I don’t know. The youth of today: f***ing moronic c***s, if you ask me.

“I meet young people, and they’re so culturally lost at the moment. All they can do, young people, is take pictures of each other. Because there’s nothing else.”

The spat continued with Capaldi changing his Twitter name to Chewis Capaldi and even walking out to his headline set at Glasgow‘s TRNSMT festival wearing a Chewbacca mask.

He even showed up to one of Noel’s High Flying Birds gigs with the Oasis legend’s DAUGHTER.

Noel’s brother Liam even waded into the feud at the time and said he had become a fan of the Scots singer.

But the pair buried the hatchet not long after with Lewis saying they had a “big hug” when they met.

Oasis’ iconic Scottish moments

But despite his comments during the feud, Noel shared some iconic Oasis moments with brother Liam north of the border.

Oasis were famously discovered in Glasgow in 1993.

Creation Records supremo Alan McGee saw the band performing at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and signed them up to his label.
