MSIP’s accelerator programme expands with 14 new green tech ventures

The MSIP Accelerator, which contributed £6.4 million to the national economy in the last three years, has already helped 41 businesses achieve success as a direct result of participating.

Part funded by Scottish Enterprise and delivered by Skillfluence, the MSIP Accelerator is an intense business accelerator designed to help ambitious young companies who are developing new solutions in sustainable innovation and decarbonisation achieve a step-change in their business

The previous four cohorts that have taken part have leveraged £1.9m of investment into their businesses, as well as successfully securing over £2.5m of innovation funding. This has enabled business growth, the creation of 81 jobs and also generated a combined turnover of £12.7m for these businesses.

Each participating business in cohort five will be able to utilise MSIP’s Innovation Labs and Makerspace throughout the programme, as well as gain access to the skills, knowledge, networks and advice that will enhance their overall technology and ideas.

The successful applicants are developing a range of future thinking products and services across various industries including sustainable mobility, renewable energy, robotics and manufacturing, sustainable built environment, AI, IoT, data, and procurement.

Skillfluence, experts in designing and delivering impactful start-up accelerator programmes, will continue to deliver the MSIP Accelerator for Cohort 5, providing a specialist programme to support Scotland’s Net-Zero carbon ambitions.

The MSIP Accelerator is one of many initiatives MSIP is undertaking as part of its Innovation Programme, designed to underpin Scotland’s response to the global climate emergency.

The 14 companies in cohort five are:

• Sim Energy Technologies: renewable energy generation using kinetic energy.
• Air Innovation Robotics Ltd: wind energy technology that is modular, scales and performs in low ambient wind speeds.
• SolarSub Ltd: an innovative passive cooling system tailored for floating solar installations.
• Friction Flow Measurement Ltd: flow and physical property measurement solutions for challenging applications.
• Hychor Ltd: a novel electrolyser for the production of hydrogen from seawater.
• NoisAI: renewable energy generation using sound energy.
• Digital Craft Marketing/Glivo App: developing an indoor heat pump that can more closely match the requirements of all Flats in UK.
• Thermsaver: developing a novel heat pump to bring flatted developments closer to carbon neutral.
• PEM Technologies Ltd: unlocking clean, affordable hydrogen through novel PEM electrolysers.
• Aquallite Data Ltd: an AI-powered seafloor data integration software to generate highly accurate, engineering-grade datasets.
• WHOLUS (a trading name of Keystone Worldwide Limited): creating ESG orientated places and spaces, empowering operational teams to deliver excellence and human centric experiences.
• Biome Collective: the creation of innovative urban installations & interactive pavement technology that transforms public spaces into dynamic and engaging environments.
• Oxbow Group Limited/Ecolyst: leading the transformation of financial and environmental management, enabling a seamless transition to sustainable practices.
• Highland Domes: sustainable built environments offering climate change resilient structures.
