First train at Gibson’s Engineering’s historic depot

1. Gibson’s Engineering has taken the first train into its facility at the revived St Rollox Works depot in the Springburn area of Glasgow.
The historic site, known locally as The Caley, had been closed in 2019 but reopened earlier this year to again specialise in train maintenance, repair and manufacturing.
Gibson’s said there were further contracts in the pipeline as it looks to grow its workforce.
Fraser Gibson, the managing director, said: “This is a really exciting moment for Glasgow and Scotland, given what we are planning to do and the number of people that we’re going to employ.
