Scottish Hospitality Group Secures Energy Advice Partnership – Scottish Business News

The Scottish Hospitality Group, representing family-owned hospitality businesses in Scotland, has teamed up with USAVE Utility Contracts to offer its members transparent energy savings advice.

The sector continues to face significant challenges, with many hospitality businesses severely affected by poor energy advice that has locked them into costly long-term contracts.

Earlier this year, Ofgem introduced new rules to support businesses, including assistance in settling disputes with suppliers.

USAVE, an award-winning company serving customers across the UK, has been recognised for its transparency. The firm already manages a portfolio that includes some of the UK’s largest independent hospitality operators.

Anthony Hale, Managing Director, USAVE Utility Contracts, said, “Energy contracts are full of complexities and are really difficult for business owners to navigate.

“It’s tricky to fully understand the market which is constantly changing. This is further compounded by misinformation and self-interested salespeople operating within our industry which is really unhelpful.

“We want to simplify energy for organisations and there are a variety of strategies we can implement to ensure the best interests of the business.

“We have long admired the work the SHG delivers on behalf of its members and are delighted to be collaborating with the team to provide further benefits.”

Stephen Montgomery, spokesperson for SHG, which represents members with a turnover in excess of £620,000 and over 5,000 employees, said, “With utilities in many cases being one of the major costs to any hospitality business, it is important that we do everything we can to help and assist our members in saving on their utilities.

“We are pleased to now welcome USAVE Utility Contracts as our utilities supplier partner, and we look forward to working closely with them.”

USAVE Utility Contracts is one of the UK’s leading providers of business energy advice.

The company achieves this by monitoring live daily market tariffs, investing in innovation and technology, and utilising its unique network and collaborative buying power among top UK energy providers.

The team offers accurate audits on gas, electricity, and water costs, as well as advice on green energy strategies and multi-site meter installations.

The company is currently responsible for c7,000 meters and manages customer energy contracts in excess of a nine-figure sum annually. Further information is available from www.usavecontracts.com.
