Moray players were among the big winners at the North of Scotland tennis championships.
Elgin Tennis Club’s Duff Avenue courts again hosted the tournament, drawing entries from across the UK.
The home club had some success, with Adam Macleod winning the men’s singles handicap, defeating Aberfeldy’s Gavin Price in the final.
Elgin pair Isla Dickinson and Kirsty Mccalman won the women’s 45+ doubles, and Elgin youngster Calleigh Mcconnell teamed up with Rothes Tennis Club’s Michelle Fraser to win the women’s doubles.
Another Elgin youngster, Millie Ralph took the women’s handicap doubles crown alongside club colleague Connie Simpson.
Father-and-son due Blair and Harris Nairn won the men’s doubles handicap for the home club, and club mates Henry Archibald and Sally Walker came out on top in the mixed doubles.
Cooper Park player John Walker lifted the men’s 45+ singles title.
Results, Men’s singles handicap – Adam Macleod beat Gavin Price 6-3, 6-3; Women’s doubles 45+ – Isla Dickinson and Kirsty Mccalman beat Marjorie Deans and Helen Peebles 1-6, 6-4, 7-5; Women’s singles – Katie Hope beat Millie Ralph 6-2, 6-3.
Mixed doubles 45+ – Alastair Hope and Gavin Price beat David Mcpherson and Stuart Thomson 7-6, 6-2; Men’s singles – Logan Urquhart beat Jack Mullan 7-5, 6-3; Mens doubles – Freddie Sharp and Logan Urquhart beat Zen Mcclure and Sandy Mcwilliam 6-2, 6-0.
Mixed doubles 50+ – Alastair Hope and Katie Hope beat Stuart Thomson and Jane Sim 6-0, 6-1; Women’s doubles – Michelle Fraser and Calleigh Mcconnell beat Michelle Mccormick [2] and Eve Wilkinson 7-5, 6-3; Women’s doubles handicap: Millie Ralph and Connie Simpson beat Joan Flett and Angela Mcwilliam by walkover.
