Bojan Miovski: Aberdeen striker ‘calm’ on return to squad

Bojan Miovski will return to the Aberdeen squad for Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup trip to East Kilbride, manager Jimmy Thelin has confirmed.

Last season’s top scorer was left out for last weekend’s opening victory away to Queen of the South, with reports suggesting Serie A pair Bologna and Genoa are among the clubs interested in the 25-year-old striker.

“We had a good chat before the last game, so he was not in the squad for that one,” Thelin said.

“But we have had a good training week and now we are going to bring him in for this game and lets take it from there.

“He has behaved really well, he is pushing himself in training, so my feeling is he is good about that situation.

“Bojan is a good guy. I think he is quite calm here at Cormack Park and everybody is focused on making a great season for Aberdeen. He is looking sharp and fresh.

“In the window, it is always like it is, but tomorrow he is inside the squad.”

North Macedonia international Miovski hit 26 goals in his second campaign at Pittodrie and still has two years to run on his contract.

Last week, Aberdeen opened disciplinary action against Duk, with the Cape Verde forward “absent without permission”.

All Thelin would say on the matter is “it is the same situation”.

“It is still ongoing, so I can’t make any further comment on that right now.”
