Switzerland supporter smacked in face by ball but fans love Scot’s reaction

AN UNLUCKY Switzerland supporter was struck in the face by a football at Euro 2024.

But people couldn’t get over the reaction of the Scottish fan in front of him.

The unfortunate moment occurred as Steve Clarke’s side held their Swiss opponents to a 1-1 draw last night.

Scotland put up a brave showing to bag a much-needed point.

And their fate is in their hands ahead of a final group stage clash against hosts Germany.

However, the main talking point from last night appeared to be in the stands rather than on the pitch.

In the 77th minute, Switzerland ace Dan Ndoye fired a shot high and wide into the crowd.

Supporters in the crowd raised their arms to protect themselves from the powerful hit.

But the ball took a deflection off one hand and went crashing straight into the face of a Swiss fan.

The strength of the shot sent the poor supporter’s glasses and hats flying into the air.

Yet the scene took a comical turn as a Scotland fan, stood directly in front of him, remained motionless with his arms crossed the entire time.

That’s despite everyone else around him peeling away in terror from the misfired shot.

And viewers at home were left delighted with the Scot’s reaction.

One said: “Scottish guy in front doesn’t budge lol.”

Another declared: “Hope the Swiss bloke is doing well.”

One noted: “He’s that drunk he never seen it.”

Meanwhile, a supercomputer has predicted Scotland have just a 36 per cent chance of reaching the knockout stages of Euro 2024.

Their 5-1 defeat to Germany on opening night means their goal difference is worse than other potential third-place finishers.

And that could seriously harm their chances of reaching the next round.
