John McGuigan steps down as Scottish Financial Enterprise chairman

John McGuigan has been chairman of SFE since November 2022

1. The chairman of Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE) is stepping down with a successor to be appointed next month.

John McGuigan has been on the board at the trade body since 2016 and took on the chairman post in November 2022.

McGuigan, 64, was previously group customer director at Standard Life and Phoenix Group. He is also the chairman of Scottish Rugby and the mutual insurer Scottish Friendly.

The SFE board wants Sue Dawe, EY’s deputy managing partner for financial services, as its new chairwoman and a vote on that proposal will take place in July.
