Scotland fans take over German pub with John McGinn chant as Euro party begins

A TEEN piper kicked off the Tartan Army’s Euros party as supporters flocked to pubs in Munich this afternoon.

Fraser Smith, 17, from Glasgow, blasted the John McGinn chant on his pipes, with a number of fans joining in as they soaked up the atmosphere.

Thousands of Scotland fans are expected to make their way to Germany to cheer on Steve Clarke’s men.

Scotland take on the hosts in the opening match of the tournament in Munich on Friday night.

Fraser’s rousing rendition came as hundreds of early arrivals gathered in Marienplatz central square in the city for a party.

And diehard supporters were spotted sporting kilts, sporrans, bonnets and dark blue jerseys in the German city.

Pubs welcomed kilted Scots with open arms as the beer flowed.

And Sky Sports legend Jeff Stelling was seen mingling with supporters.

We told how up to 200,000 of the Tartan Army are set to take Germany by storm.

Thousands of fans have descended on Scots airports over the past week as footie fever took grip and hopes grew of an upset in Friday night’s mouthwatering opening match.

Earlier on, the beer prices for punters at the main Euros fan zone were revealed.

Scotland and Germany fans will mix in the OlympiaPark, one of the three host cities the Tartan Army will descend upon over the next fortnight.

Punters normally grimace at the price list at sort of fan zone or stadium environment – but that might not be the case here.

Prices are €13 (£11) for a litre of beer (or alcohol free beer) and €6.50 (£5.48) for half a litre. It’s the same price for the same serving of Weissbier.

And while a single shot of German liqueur Jagermeister will cost €3, the fan zone is running a deal where punters can buy 10 shots of it for only €25 (saving themselves a fiver).

A major weather update was also issued to fans heading to Germany.

STV weatherman Sean Batty has revealed that Scots will be able to stick to the ‘taps aff’ tradition when they are in Bavaria later this week as temperatures are set to soar.

The mercury is set to hit the mid-20s at the end of the week.

The Tartan Army’s next clash will take them to Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia to face off with Switzerland on June 19.

The team will then head to Stuttgart for the game against Hungary on June 23.
