And STV weatherman Sean Batty has revealed that Scots will be able to stick to the ‘taps aff’ tradition when they are in Bavaria later this week as temperatures are set to soar.

Scotland is not the only nation to be experiencing below average temperatures at the moment.

Cool northerly air is affecting Spain, France, Scandinavia and Germany as well.

Scotland are set to clash with host nation Germany in the Euros opener on Friday in Munich.

And Sean has revealed that temperatures are set to rise to highs of 25C by then.

But has warned fans about strong UV levels.

He added: “With the mercury rising to the mid-20s by Friday, it’s likely that some Scots fans will introduce Munchners to our typical ’taps off’ tradition – but this should come with a word of warning.

“We’re just about a week away from the summer solstice. That means the sun is now at its strongest possible level with the UV index hitting a level 7 in Munich on Friday.

“This is at the extreme level of what we get here in Scotland and means the burn time is less than 20 minutes.

“So while Friday may be a day of sing-songs and enjoying the best of Bavaria, it’s worth making sure you have plenty of suntan lotion on before your day of merriment.”

By kick-off time, temperatures should cool off to 16C.

Saturday is expected to be warm as well but rain will arrive in the evening.

The Tartan Army’s next clash will take them to Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia to face off with Switzerland on June 19.

The team will then head to Stuttgart for the game against Hungary on June 23.

It comes as the beer prices for punters at the main Euros fan zone have been revealed.

Prices are €13 (£11) for a litre of beer (or alcohol free beer) and €6.50 (£5.48) for half a litre. It’s the same price for the same serving of Weissbier.
