Cricket chief urges watchdog to say racism report was fatally flawed
The national sport agency must publicly admit its report describing Cricket Scotland as institutionally racist was fatally flawed, a former chairman of the cricket governing body has said.
Tony Brian, who chaired Cricket Scotland between 2015 and 2022, said it had become increasingly clear that Sportscotland had presided over a growing scandal and its refusal to admit the errors in its review was a shameful attempt to cover up the truth.
It was revealed this week that the Scottish cricketer John Blain had been cleared of allegations of bigotry and racist behaviour by Cricket Scotland. Blain had been accused by colleagues Majid Haq and Qasim Sheikh of using the P-word to refer to Asian players.
