Germany’s starting XI vs. Scotland revealed: Is this the way?

According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), former Bayern Munich coach and current German national team boss Julian Nagelsmann has settled on his starting XI to face off against Scotland in the EURO 2024 tournament opener:

The starting XI for Friday’s game against Scotland has already been decided with: Neuer, Kimmich, Tah, Rüdiger, Mittelstädt, Kroos, Andrich, Musiala, Gündogan, Wirtz and Havertz. Meanwhile, Füllkrug, Sané and Groß are the three players which Nagelsmann considers to be part of the ‘extended starting eleven’ and thus have the highest chance of playing time.

As expected, Nagelsmann’s lineup will be what many thought he would do. While Pascal Groß made a very strong run to take a spot next to Toni Kroos in the central midfield, Robert Andrich will get the nod.

The big omission from the XI that Bayern Munich fans will notice is Leroy Sané. With İlkay Gündoğan having a stronghold on the No. 10 position, Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz will continue play in wider roles, which sends Sané to the bench.
